Huntington's Disease Unit
Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center

This 48-bed unit, which opened in 1988, is a highly regarded regional center of excellence, well known throughout the Huntington's academic and service communities. Residents range in age from their mid-20s to 70s and are in the later stages of the disease. Each resident is supervised by a physician with expertise in Huntington's Disease, while an interdisciplinary team of health professionals manages the myriad of problems and challenges associated with this degenerative illness.

Through the generosity of several committed benefactors, the Unit has been equipped with customized state-of-the-art technology and architectural features, providing residents with maximum comfort and safety. A devoted and stable Family Council participates in the administration of the unit, and world-renowned researchers study the population with the hope of improving treatment and ultimately finding a cure for this devastating disease.
